Ideally, the improvement of social and economic status following P3K (Government Employee with Work Agreement) appointment should strengthen family welfare and marital harmony. However, the reality in several regions of Aceh reveals a worrying paradox: divorce rates have increased significantly after couples obtained this status. This phenomenon indicates an imbalance between material success and emotional-spiritual stability in Muslim family life. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of post-P3K divorce in Aceh through the perspective of maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah, assessing how the principles of hifẓ al-nasl (protection of lineage), hifẓ al-māl (protection of wealth), and hifẓ al-‘ird (protection of honor) are maintained within modern marital relations. This research employs a qualitative library study method, utilizing normative and socio-religious literature relevant to the Acehnese context. The findings reveal that divorce often occurs due to shifts in economic roles, communication breakdowns, and weak internalization of spiritual responsibility within marriage. The maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah framework offers an ethical and holistic approach to reorient family consciousness so that the pursuit of economic advancement does not undermine the continuity and dignity of Muslim households.
